Mark highlights the universal human condition by placing the disciples in the boat. We are all on the Ship of Theseus (The Collective Body of Humanity), drifting on the Sea of Chaos.
Every human is a Fisherman. The act of living is the act of casting a "Net of Perception" into the Chaos to extract Order. The catch is defined by the weave of the net.
This is the distinction Jesus draws. The disciples were casting Drag-nets for Bread (Survival). Jesus calls them to cast The Net of Logos.
Not resources, but the totality of the Being. The "Hook, Line, and Sinker" capture of the Heart (Q4), Mind (Q5), and Will (Q1).
To catch a Man, your net must be woven from a material stronger than the Man's own Ego. You cannot catch a Soul with a net of Promises (Politics) or Logic (Science) alone.
"You are what you catch."
